Increasing customer engagement with eye-catching, customer-driven creative.

The Challenge

‘Everything Curriculum’ is YPO’s free termly magazine aimed at primary schools in England. The magazine launched in September 2015, with the aim to support schools in delivering the new curriculum. The new curriculum was introduced in September 2014 and there were significant changes.

The magazine features a variety of articles including education news, special features, insight and product reviews.

18 months on and after five issues, YPO decided it was time for a review, to make sure they were continuing to provide the best content and features for primary schools. YPO therefore needed to get feedback on the magazine from the people it is aimed at and as a result conducted a focus group with teachers. The feedback from this confirmed that the content needed to be more advisory focused and less about product selling. It also highlighted that the design of the magazine needed updating in line with this.

The Impact

The first edition was a great success for YPO in terms of feedback and registrations with over 650 teachers actively signing up to receive the magazine and a revised distribution list of over 27,000.

A feedback survey was carried out with recipients after the first edition. The feedback received via the survey was positive, with teachers finding the magazine useful, the number of pages being right and the layout of pages being clear and easy to follow.

The Campaign

AG Education created a new unique style for the magazine which resonated immediately with the target audience and promoted key features and articles. The magazine needed to be more like a lifestyle magazine with less emphasis on product selling.

The first issue was focused on health and well-being and our design cover brought this to life in an engaging and impactful manner. This style will be applied to the next 3 editions of 2018.
“We’re really pleased with our new look ‘Everything Curriculum’ magazine and were impressed by the level of detail and creativity shown by AG Education in developing this for us.

The finished magazine is eye catching and something that definitely stands out.

Everyone throughout YPO is extremely happy with the finished article and our recent feedback survey also shows customers are happy with this too, which is obviously the most important.

An excellent job all round.”
